Homemade Hot Pockets

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs SFM Co ground beef

  • 2 tsp butter

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1/2 green pepper, diced

  • 1 tsp seasoned salt

  • 4 oz cheddar cheese

  • bread dough

Directions:

  1. Sautee the peppers and onions in the butter until soft and golden brown.

  2. Add the beef to the skillet with the onions and peppers. Cook the beef until no pink color is visible. Make sure to crumble the beef into small pieces.

  3. Cut and dice the cheddar cheese into small cubes.

  4. There are a few options when it comes to the bread dough. In this recipe, homemade bread dough was used, but the pre=frozen bread roll dough from the supermarket would work perfectly. If using frozen dough, make sure to thaw first.

  5. Roll out one roll-sized portion of dough into a flat circle.

  6. In the center of the dough circle add 1.3 tsps of the ground beef mixture, and 5-6 cubes of cheddar cheese. Bring the sides of the dough together, and pinch to close. Continue to roll into a round ball, while pinching the seam. Make sure to have a good seal on the dough, otherwise the filling will leak out while baking.

  7. Line the hot pockets onto a pre-greased baking sheet. Bake at 350-degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread dough is golden brown.

  8. Enjoy!
